Teeth whitening remains one of the single most economical ways to enhance your smile and is quickly becoming the most popular form of cosmetic dentistry on the market.
While the shade of your teeth is not necessarily an indication of dental health, the stigma associated with discolored teeth can take its toll on your confidence and mental health.
At Sage Dental Care we offer in-office whitening and the do-it-yourself approach, with take home whitening kits.
Because it can transform your teeth in a single office visit, the most preferred method of whitening among patients is in-office whitening. In-office treatment can lighten your teeth by three to 10 shades.
Many also prefer in-office teeth whitening because of the expert advice and monitoring they receive from our professionals who perform the procedure.
Take Home Whitening
As an alternative to in-office teeth whitening, we also provide in-home whitening. Your results will depend on how diligently you follow our instructions and the level of tooth discoloration you have. For best results with at-home products, consistency is key.
We have two types: professional-grade bleach strips and custom-made bleach trays and whitening gel.
How long does at-home whitening take?
The treatment period required for at home whitening will vary depending on a number of factors, among them the concentration of the whitener and what kind of stains or discoloration you have. Some tooth discoloration is more resistant to treatment than others.
Blue-grey tetracycline staining can be more stubborn and may require more extended treatment. Tooth yellowing caused by smoking, foods and beverages, or the normal aging process, are usually quite responsive to whitening. Generally, bleaching treatments lasting at least two hours over the course of a two week period will produce 90% of the whitening effect that they are going to achieve in that time frame.
Removing persistent stains and brightening your smile through professional teeth whitening has many benefits including increased self-esteem; cosmetic enhancement without surgery; overall mood elevation; warmer smile; is an asset in your professional pursuits; and even aids in overall dental care because once your pearly whites are really white you will want to take better care of them!
According to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, teeth whitening procedures are on the rise because more and more people are realizing the tremendous benefits.
At Sage Dental Care we will work closely with you to determine which type of teeth whitening suits your needs and budget so you can have the smile you deserve!
